ACT ART merges art, fashion, pop and club culture, and stages events that celebrate difference, and non mainstream work.
ACT ART aims to show experimental, underground, radical pieces and work that we think has something to say, be it political, confrontational, beautiful, ugly or simply a spectacle.
ACT ART programmes work that’s sometimes difficult to watch, or be confronted with and our aim is to bring different people together, brake down social groups and steer away from the cliquey art world, and its politics.
ACT ART hates art world politics and academia’s obsession with over complicating things, we believe in less discussion and more action, less pretence and more show, less academic and more real.
ACT ART aims to make art more fun, whilst still remaining thought provoking, and is less about climbing the art world career ladder in today’s money orientated art world.
ACT ART events are solely funded by charging an admittance fee and doesn't receive any form of Arts Council funding or sponsorship, we don't believe in taking hand outs from government to stage events, and refuse to tick boxes and abide by demands and restrictions in return for financial support.
ACT ART doesn't believe in censorship and retains the freedom to show whatever work we feel free.
ACT ART is run by artists, for artists and people interested in art.

ACT ART 8 CENSORED asked is CENSORSHIP really appropriate?
Do individuals have the right to say whatever they wish - even if this offends someone else?
Does CENSORSHIP have the effect of making art more appealing, more glamorous, and more exciting?
Is it controlling and arrogant to suggest the public needs protecting?
Is CENSORSHIP about what’s morally wrong or obscene, or is it subjective?
